]]> 2017-09-28 13:58:13 UTC https://padlet.com/jlagarde/artsintegration/wish/192076371 Mock Caldecott https://padlet.com/jlagarde/artsintegration/wish/192573579 I often team with 2nd or 3rd grade to do a Mock Caldecott program in December and January.  I read from Caldecott prediction groups (i.e. Goodreads) and select a dozen books to share with students.  I provide lessons with details on the illustrator and art techniques used.  Students elvaluate the books based on art principles and relation to the story text.  They get to vote the last week in January and I compare their choices with the real Caldecott awarded in late January.
