Re: Red Carpet morning

Prior to knowing about this fun plan, we published 8:15am for our first kindergarten tests. So I don't know how the K teachers will be able to be at the red carpet....If you need, we can contact those three families to reschedule. ?

For students and families coming for kindergarten testing throughout the day, do they need to come and check in at the main office or come through the north entrance door? Whatever direction we receive, we will let the parents know.

Use some of your legislative money to get a small laminator! It is not that expensive. Then the big laminator could be for just big things - like posters. I love my little laminator and it works great for nametags, papers, smaller projects.

ML question -

It was decided that Suzanne Fuhriman will be teaching the kinder ML group. We would like to begin as soon as possible. It will take time to formally qualify them and get them WIDA tested. Prior to that, may we teachers use classroom observational data to determine the students who will be in the group? For example, if the student cannot speak English and a second language is spoken by the parent.

Last year, Tonja announced over the intercom by 8:10 if students should wait INSIDE before school (due to temp being below 20 degrees). This happened quite a few days in January, and the para supervisors needed that clarification so they were all on the same page.

Does Educators Handbook automatically change a certain number of minor incidents into a major incident? Or do we as teachers need to count the number of minor incidents that we've logged, and then log the next designated one as a major?

Would it be possible to have BARK posters translated into Chinese - at least in some sense? it would be amazing if we could have the Chinese classes using comparable language to the english. Also it would be awesome if the Chinese classes are teaching using common vocabulary. Then as they move grade to grade they already know the words in Chinese.

AM Supervision problems - There needs to be separate plan for interventionist (m-th) and teachers (fridays). Make sure there are only as many positions as teachers that we have. Also that one of the teachers on Fridays has to be at the front crosswalk.

Using a lanyard for a hall pass would be tricky for reasons Anna brought up. Also, there are often students in the hallway going to the intervention room, or SpEd. There are some other times that students would be wandering instead of just going to the restroom, but with students moving to other classes for intervention there are often a lot of students in the hallways. A pass could get tricky.

In Educators Handbook, how do we classify a student who refuses to come in from the playground or refuses to leave the classroom when you are: going to lunch, going to specialty class, etc. It's much more problematic than a level one "out of assigned area."
