One other area in which I managed to develop myself is my time management skills. In the past, I always struggled with managing my time between my academic and social life. However, this year, I managed to schedule myself properly. With better time management skills, I am now able to find time for both social activities and academic life. As an example, this year, I successfully managed my workload for the Introduction to Marketing Principles and Consumer Behaviour assignment. I planned the assignment three weeks before the deadline and spread the work over two weeks, which allowed me to complete it completely stress-free. Despite not considering myself a strong writer, I ended up producing one of the best assignments I’ve ever done. This experience showed me again the importance of time management and planning.

Furthermore, this year, I started to learn French, which will be my fourth language (Turkish, English, German, French). I also explored new hobbies, such as fencing and walking in nature. Additionally, I started to read books about economics to expand my knowledge. Alongside academic development, I also learned how to cook and how to plan my budget.

I also had the opportunity to visit the Marylebone campus of the University of Westminster, and from the moment I saw the building, I was captivated by its architecture. The modern design and vibrant atmosphere immediately made me excited about my future studies. During my visit, I spoke with students studying Economics and Management, who shared their positive experiences about the university. They described the teaching staff as highly supportive, often going the extra mile to provide additional resources and guidance. I was also fascinated by the library, especially its extensive book collection, and had the chance to see the classrooms as well. This visit further strengthened my motivation to continue my studies next year with even more passion and dedication.

Studying at Kaplan International College London has really been helpful for me to further improve my communication skills and my confidence in English. I've had tons of chances to practice and improve, whether in class with classmates or tutors and, afterwards, hanging out with other students. Moreover, in college, I had the opportunity to practice my English with people from different countries such as Russia, UAE, Turkmenistan, etc. Even though I can clearly see that I have room for improvement in English, I find myself needing to adjust my speaking pace and word choices. If I don’t, some of the other students struggle to understand me.

Also, we had a group project for our Business Environment class, where we were supposed to prepare a presentation as a group about a company, TripNomads. During our meetings, I think I managed to communicate with all the group members; moreover, I ensured clear communication between different group members. Additionally, I joined a local discussion club that looks at global economic trends. It gave me a great chance to practice sharing my thoughts in English while chatting with others about interesting topics. This experience really helped me boost my confidence and made it easier for me to join both debates and casual conversations, especially on topics related to economics.

When I go to school, I use the underground as my main mode of transportation. While using public transport in London, I believe I have improved my navigation skills and overcome the fear of getting lost in the station or going in the wrong direction. Also, the city has museums on almost anything I can think of. One of my favourites was the Natural History Museum. During my visit, I had the opportunity to take a look at the progression of evolution, explore the fossils of different dinosaurs, etc.

These experiences have significantly contributed to my academic accomplishments as well as my personal development. One of the most critical skills I have acquired is effective time management. The demands of coursework, collaborative projects, and independent study have equipped me with the ability to prioritize tasks judiciously and manage deadlines efficiently. This skill has not only enhanced my academic performance but will also be invaluable in a professional environment, where adherence to tight deadlines is often imperative.

Moreover, I learned how to use tools like Microsoft Excel for data analysis. I've really focused on improving my self-study and research skills. Through different assignments, I've figured out how to find reliable academic sources, evaluate data effectively, and put together solid arguments. The knowledge and skills I have acquired at Kaplan will help me solidify my foundation in the field of Economics and Management. I am confident that these experiences will greatly enhance my aspirations to build a successful career in this field.
