These items of clothing are required due to Biblical Commandments, modesty requirements and the style of clothing they wore in the past.

Sacrificing kids was not rare in the ancient world. The Jews stopped sacrificing lambs and baby goats. Many Jews were arrested for trying to smuggle a kid for a sacrifice. They filled a bowl with goat blood and it was passed from priest to priest like a conveyor belt. This ancient ritual abruptly came to an end in 70 C.E., when the Romans put down the Jews.

Gabbai: a Gabbai is a lay person who volunteers to perform various duties in connection with Torah readings at religious services.
