He is saved when a couple of greasers came by to rescue him. 

Rising Action: Johnny kills a Socs causing them to flee. When they are gone the rival gangs heat up. Ponyboy and Johnny flee off to an old church. 

Climax: Johnny dies from the saving those kids in the church fire while they are in Windrixville.

Resolution: In the end, Ponyboy recovers from the emotional and physical trauma that has occurred.
