The Hallasan mountain is the tallest and largest mountain in South Korea. Not only is it a mountain, but it was also a shield volcano. Shield volcanoes are built of fluid lava flows. Shield volcanoes have a gentle slope and dome shape. When they erupt they have very fluid eruptions that just flow out. The lava is probably what formed the island it is in, just like Mauna Loa.
