The man that was known for sticking up for civil rights. The voice of millions of African-Americans. He was an activist and spokesperson for disadvantaged citizens with hopes and dreams. This man was called Martin Luther King. He was harshly criticising these so called “segregration laws” that the South of America enforced from the late 19^th to the early 20^th century. These laws carried out segregation between the black and white folks of America. There were segregated schools with poor and less educational opportunities for the African-Americans. Furthermore, many different states of the US had enforced laws that banned interracial marriage. There was also segregration in public transport services, such as busses. The busses had separate classes with the best seat opportunities for the white folk and bad seats all the way in the back of the bus for the black folk. If they were lucky enough ofcourse, most of the time the black folk would have no seat at all or they were forced to give their seat to a white person. “I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed, we hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal”. (Martin Luther King, 1963).

A terrifying and historical terrorist attack that America suffered from 22 years ago. As for today, these innocent lives that have been taken away will always be remembered with a moment of silence on the 11^th of September. In 2011, a terrorist group from Afghanistan called Al Qaida, carried out their plan of an attack to the US by hijacking four planes filled with passengers and crashing them into different targets. This horrific day left a traumatic impact on thousands of people as the events were televised globally. 81 passengers had their last moments in the planes right before they crashed into the twin towers, a pentagon and the last one crashing into a field in Pennsylvania. The twin towers collapsed right after the hit causing a huge damage to a big area that even reached Manhattan. The leader of the terrorist group was called Osama Bin Laden. The reason behind the attack was supposedly due to George Bush being in support of Israel and the American military being too involved in the Middle East. One of the flights, flight 93, was delayed in taking off which led to the passengers finding out about the hijacking and plotted attack through their phones. 4 brave passengers attacked the pilots compartment which caused the plane to crash into a field in Pennyslavia. Unfortunately, all passengers on board died. In total, almost 3000 people died this day.

Former American president John F. Kennedy always dreamed of being the first country to step foot on the moon. He set this goal on the 25^th of May 1961. 8 years later, his dream became reality. Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and Edwin Aldrin named their mission Apollo 11. The three American astronauts travelled 4 days through space and landed on the moon on the 20^th of July 1969. Millions of people watched this historical moment through television and heard Neil Armstrong say the words “one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.” This moon landing leaves its mark for being the most iconic and memorable one. It was not only a special occasion because it was the first ever, but also because 650 million people watched it live happen through broadcasting. Apollo 11 was the result of a huge investment of the nation. Before the event took place, NASA was unsure whether they should place a camera on Apollo 11, as it would take extra weight with it. Eventually it was decided that a black and white camera will go along with the trip to the moon. The images and sound ways were transferred through an umbrella like antenna. The antenna consisted of very thin wire that was gold plated. This made it reflect signals to earth.

Donald Trump’s successful life started at an early time. He rolled into the business and real estate world after graduating in Finance at the University of Philadelphia. This made him own many properties and create a status. His career switch to politics started in the early 2000s. Around this time, he wrote a book called “The America We Deserve”, in which he expresses his conservative views in politics. 12 years later, he joins The Republican Party. This is where he starts to gain a lot of popularity and attention by the Americans, especially amongst the Caucasian civilians. His success rapidly grows as he announces to run for president in 2016. Trump leaves a big mark for his “Make America Great Again” campaign and gains big success on his designed red caps with this slogan. His supporters started to massively buy these caps which made it become one of the most successful marketing techniques. Trump had many promises, just like all the other candidates. What sets him apart, are his controversial remarks on non-Caucasian communities. He has made many racist remarks on African Americans and he is famous for wanting to prevent immigrations from Latin America and immigrations of Muslims. In 2016, Trump won the electrical votes against Hillary Clinton and he became the president of the United States. Luckily, his legacy did not last long as he got beaten by Biden in the elections. He is now a former president of the United States.
