What is a CONCETTI?

-The Lazzi is the physical, improvised interlude- the CONCETTI is the spoken!

-All characters have their own Concetti- usually preprepared with a basic outline of what they are going to say in the situation.

- They are used as a break in the action. They give the character a chance to speak directly to the audience.

-They can incorporate thoughts about grievances in their lives.

-The speech must match the character's main foci. For example the innamorati = love, Pantalone = money etc.

- They can often be paired with some sort of catch phrase that the character uses throughout the performance.

- BE INVENTIVE!

- go up the audience member and question them
- demand for the money back
- tell the person who has stolen his money why pantalone should have all the money
- go to line "I AM MONEY"
- in the end either storm off in rage or storm into audience

Pantalone apparently had no interest in the conversation and was only focussed on his money bag. She then rants on about how he is a bad father with zero dedication towards forming a relationship with her.

-compares her life with his
-makes it clear that she has a lot more going for her with her good looks
- makes the audience think that he is in the wrong and she is the dedicated one
- tries to get sympathy from the audience
