         <description><![CDATA[<div>This week we will focus on adjectives! Adjectives have a special job in a sentence. <strong>Adjectives are words that describe nouns. </strong>There are 2 types of adjectives that we will focus on this week.<br><strong>-Comparative:</strong> compares 2 things; add an "-er" or the word "more" <br>-<strong>Superlative:</strong> compares more than 2 things: add an "-est" or the word "most" <br><strong><em>Examples:</em></strong><br>Fortnite is a <em>fun</em> game. (Fun describes the game.)<br>Julia is <em>stronger</em> than Nita. (Stronger is comparing Julia to Nita.)<br>Dogs are the <em>most popular</em> pet in our class. Adverbs have a special job in a sentence. <strong>Adverbs are words that describe verbs.</strong> Adverbs often have the suffix "-ly". There are 2 types of adverbs that we will focus on this week.<br><strong>-Comparative: </strong>compares 2 things; add an "-er" or the word "more"<strong><br>-Superlative: </strong>compares more than 2 things; add an "-est" or the word "most"<strong><br></strong><strong><em>Examples:<br></em></strong>I c<em>arefully</em> folded the paper.          <description><![CDATA[<div>This week will will focus on the difference between adjectives and adverbs! Both have different jobs in a sentence. Remember that adjectives describe a <em>noun</em> and adverbs describe a <em>verb</em>.<br><strong>Examples:<br></strong>I have such a <em>nice</em> sister. (Nice describes my sister. Sister is a noun. So, nice is an ADJECTIVE.)<br>Jack's handwriting is so <em>neat</em>. (Neat describes Jack's handwriting. Handwriting is a noun. So, neat is an ADJECTIVE.)<br>Amelia ran so <em>quickly</em>. (Quickly describes how Amelia ran. Ran is a verb. So, quickly is an ADVERB.) <br>I <em>quietly</em> read my book. (Quietly describes how I read. Read is a verb. Let's review some important vocabulary: <br><strong>-Adjective: </strong>words that describe <em>nouns</em>.<strong><br>-Adverb: </strong>Words that describe <em>verbs</em>.<strong><br>-Comparative: </strong>compares <em>2 things. (Ex: My sister likes to paint.)<br><strong>Compound:</strong> Two independent clauses joined with a coordinating conjunction. (Ex: My sister takes painting classes, <em>and</em> she is very talented.)<br><strong>Complex:</strong> Independent clause and a dependent clause with a subordinating conjunction.
