*Natural Landscape


- Rinjani volcano dominating Lombok island next to Bali forms the second highest peak of the Indonesian volcanoes. It is famous for its beautiful 6 x 8.5 km wide, oval-shaped caldera which contains a 2.5x4.8 km wide lake (Segara Anak) reaching 230 m maximum depth.
Two young cones were built inside the caldera in the eastern part of the caldera, Rombongan and Barujani cones, which is the site of all historic activity, known since 1847, and frequently active. Most eruptions are strombolian type and sometimes form lava flows.
Rinjani is a famous and very rewarding trekking destination.Rinjani Volcano , there are no human touch , there only nature life .


*Rural Landscape

-Rinjani village , there are a paddy field at the village and traditional houses and people at there do a farming job because the village near the rinjani volcano so the land is fertile soil that suitable for farming job . About religion at Rinjani Village (Sembalun Village) . In Sembalun Village the whole Sasak ethnic in that area are muslims (from book Legitimacy, Legal Development and Change: Law and Modernization Reconsidered edited by David K.Linnan , pages 217) . About ethnic in Sembalun Village that called Sasak ,The Sasak people live mainly on the island of Lombok Indonesia , numbering around 3.6 million (85% of Lombok's population). They are related to the Balinese in language and ancestry, although the Sasak are predominantly Muslim while the Balinese are Hindu. Sasak people who practice pre-Islamic beliefs are also known as Sasak Boda in reference to the name of the Sasak people's original religion, Bodha. There is a possibility that the origin of the name Sasak came from the word sak-sak, which means "boat". In the Nagarakretagama, the word Sasak is mentioned together as one with Lombok Island, namely Lombok Sasak Mirah Adhi. According to local tradition, it is believed that the word Sasak came from sa'-saq which means "the one". Followed by the word Lombok which originates from the word Lomboq, meaning "straight". Hence by combining the words together Sa'-saq Lombok, it means "something that's straight". Other translations also includes "a straight road". Lombok Sasak Mirah Adhi is taken from the Nagarakretagama (Desawarnana) literature, a scripture written by Mpu prapanca that records the power and rule of the Majapahit kingdom. The word Lombok inlanguage means "straight" or "honest", Mirah means "gem", Sasak means "statement", and Adhi means "something that's good" or "utmost". Therefore Lombok Sasak Mirah Adhi means "honesty is the gem that states out goodness". Traditional music is a significant part of Sasak culture – the instruments usually consist of traditional Indonesian instruments like the Gamelan, flute and percussive instruments shown in this picture, and often hold great historical value. The Gamelan instrument featured in this photo is over one hundred years old. The skills of the instruments are passed down from the older members of the village to the younger men.

Traditional dancing is also another important aspect of village life and holds great historical importance. Sometimes professional dancers will visit the village, and masks are sometimes worn when acting stories through dance.


*Urban Landscape

-Lombok city, is a place where a lot of building and many  landmarks for the visitors to know famous places. Completely different from natural and rural because urban landscape is everything is arranged by human. Lombok city name is Mataram City . Mataram (Indonesian: Kota Mataram) is the capital of the Indonesian province of West Nusa Tenggara. The city is surrounded on all the landward sides by (but is not administratively contained within) West Lombok Regency (Kabupaten Lombok Barat) and lies on the western side of the island of Lombok, Indonesia. It is also the largest city of the province, and had a population of 402,296 at the 2010 Census the latest official estimate (as at January 2014) is 420,941.
Ethnic people at madataram city is the Sasak people . The Sasak people are the indigenous people of Lombok and form the majority of Mataram's residents. Mataram is also home to people of Balinese, Javanese, Chinese, Tionghoa-peranakan people of mixed Indonesian and Chinese descent and a small number of Arab Indonesian people, mainly of Yemeni descent who settled in the early port city of Ampenan. Despite being urban dwellers, the Sasak people of Mataram still identify strongly with their origins and the Sasak culture. The outbreak of riots in Lombok, on 17 January 2000 is considered to have been initiated by outside influences. After the troubles passed, Mataram's community returned to living in relative harmony. The religion at Mataram's City is diverse but
Islam is the religion of over 80% of the population of Mataram. Hinduism has the second largest following with 14% of the population. Other religions practised in Mataram are Christianity, Buddhism, and Confucianism.
