Unsure at this stage about what to focus my video on. Would like the focus of the video to be on the cinematography because I feel like that would intrigue audiences. I would also like the soundtrack of the video to be strong to excite the audience when viewing.

This source explains how music moods can have an effect on marketing. The source goes into detail about the pitch and texture in music and how that affects people's moods.

This source will be helpful to me because it will help me find my intended audience by finding out what mood i want to portray in my video. An interesting finding in the source was related to volume, 'finding it to be loudest for songs characterized as very exciting or very happy' (Bruner 1990, p. 98). Those are the emotions I hope to portray in my video because that will entice the audience.

Promotional Video for an electronic dance album.
A student sitting down to study, puts on some music to help him study. The music they choose isn't motivating them so they put on the promotional album and start to get motivated and achieve lots of work.

This video is very well produced but I want to put a creative spin on my video. At the end of the video, I like how the music builds up and then turns off because it makes audiences want to hear the rest of the song.

After more thinking, I have a strong idea which involves promoting an electronic music album with a focus around studying students. The goal of the video is to make audiences feel like they need this product to help them study more.

The mindmap process helped me flesh out more ideas and ultimately led me to my final idea. By forcing myself to answer the questions that the mindmap provided, it helped me generate simple ideas that I could then build on.

This source shows data on the impacts of listening to music while studying for different age groups. The source asks a lot of questions about different scenarios and moods that people may be studying under to see if it is benefitting them or not.

I believe that this source will help me further understand what music people like to listen to when studying. This will help me pinpoint the music that doesn't help people study and the music that benefits people studying so I can then include that in my video.

"Presence" will be about a male student that is in deep concentration while studying late at night, becoming more and more stressed out over the deadline of his assignment. The music he is listening to while studying isn't motivating him so he changes the song in search of some encouragement. After trialling many different genres of songs, nothing has helped him and the deadline for his assignment is getting closer. He decides that he needs to try a new genre of, electronic dance music. While searching through his music albums, he comes across the intriguing album art of Petit Biscuit's "Presence" and decides to give it a listen. The tempo and beat of the songs inspire him and he begins to work profusely through the night. He sits back in relief as he admires the complete assignment he has in front of him, handing it up an hour before midnight when it is due.

This video is also similar to the other two examples but I like how this video has an intriguing beginning. Without knowing the title of the video then audiences wouldn't know what the video is promoting until the end which is a good way to lure viewers in. I would like my promotional video to have an interesting beginning so that viewers become engrossed.
