I found charred wood, and wondered where it came from. Then I started weeding my roses
(overgrown) and found a really pretty new weed. Might it be a flower? And the last surprise was not a good one. I live on the edge of wetlands, and there is a brook that runs thru my yard. We have seen evidence of rats chewing holes near our houses and I did what no nature lover wants to do...and found a big fat rat, deceased, under a leaf. He or she is now buried in my "dead animal spot in my yard. Yuck.
