1B: Based on the group you've been assigned, take 20-30 minutes to respond to the post using 1-2 of the rhetorical strategies (you won't have time to research - so don't pick statistics or data). Your goal is to clearly state your argument & persuade your audience using your strategies. When you are finished, post your response, and respond to your group members in 2-3 sentences, stating whether you agree with them or not and why. by TAYLOR BROCKETT

Yes, kids should have to take a class about life skills because it isn't taught enough, people should know how to do things like taxes before they actually do them for real. I know that I think some classes are useless and it could be a good class for kids that think the same way because they can use what they learn in class in real life later on.

Yes, students should be required to complete community service. As doing community service teaches students how to work and help others even if it means not getting paid or getting a reward and it. Doing community service causes students to learn to be grateful and appreciate things. I also have done community service by helping others which taught me to appreciate things and how its good to help people.

Yes, students should be required to do either a club or sport. I think this because having on your college application that you did a sport or club makes you look involved in school which makes you look good. Also they are very fun. In my own personal experience I do a club and sport and I enjoy them a lot and I think everyone should have an opportunity to enjoy something.

No, schools should not ban phones during school hours. In my own personal experience, most of the time when I am in school I usually need to text my parents or other people about certain things and if phones were banned in school I wouldn't be able to do that. Phones in school could be helpful if you need to reach out to someone and if you need to use it for other things.

No because if schools are worried about students being on social media they should just ban phones fully, But some school do ban them for schools that don't have any rules on phones it is there fault that students are on social media. Social media can help students with some communication skills. I think that students should be able to use social media during lunch, study halls, and free time during there classes.

I know how it felt, when I couldn't use my phone in school and it was really hard, I needed to do things like call my parents/ my family, and I feel like with the right rules in place and lesson plan I dont think its any issue with kids having there phone at school.

No, school should not ban phones during school hours. A lot of students have conditions like diabetes that require phones. Plus, phones can also be used during an emergency to text or call parents when needed. In my personal experience, whenever I don't feel good, I usually text my parents to pick me up. Banning phones at school won't allow students to text their parents for emergencies. Therefore, phones can be a source of help for certain things.
