This is the fact that mosquitoes are very small and tiny in comparison to human beings, however they still bother us a good amount. Whether they're flying around your ear or sucking our blood they are making a difference. Also this quote means the fact that they aren't afraid to bother us (to make a difference), even though we are giants to them. Therefore the literary meaning to this African Proverb, shows mosquitoes are small, but they aren't intimidated by humans beings and bother us (make a change). No matter who you are you can make a difference. For example, one voice can be heard and influence many others.
