The Fertile Crescent is not only the home of some of the earliest civilizations, it is also the birthplace for three of the world’s major religions. In this unit, we will learning about the Ancient Hebrews and Judaism. During their captivity in Babylon, Hebrew scribes recorded the history of their people and their relationship with their
god Yahweh. After 539 B.C.E., the Persians under Cyrus II conquered Babylon. He allowed the Hebrews to return to their
holy city of Jerusalem. But, the Hebrews continued to fall under the domination of other empires. In 70 C.E., the Romans
destroyed Jerusalem and sent most of the Jews into an exile that lasted until the 20th century.

The main person in their religion was their Monotheistic god, Allah. Muslims consider him to be the creator and he is in his own stratosphere with no children, parents, etc. God created Adam to go to Mary for Jesus.
-One important person in their religion was Muhammad who was the messenger of god. Muhammad was born in Mecca 570 A.D. He died in Medina 632 A.D. He was an orphan due to his father dying before birth and is mother as an infant. He was a descendant of Prophet Ishmael's prophet Abraham's eldest son. He is a continuation of Islam not the founder. He is thought to be the last prophet or messenger in a long line of prophets of 25 (first being Adam). He is a man not to be worshiped or celebrated. He is often known with the title "The Trustworthy" even among enemies or non-followers. Most of his children died like his sins died as children while his daughters usually married then died besides one daughter of his who had twins then died. He was also important since he brought up discrimination. Abraham was considered a Muslim since he worships god. This includes people like Jesus and Moses too.
- Angels are important people because they are the servants of Allah who act in his command.
-Prophets & Messengers were the hest of humanity sent by Allah to be an example to mankind. There are about 25 of them.

-Some important people in culture were Ganesha who was half elephant and half human. However, the primordial gods are Lord Shiva (destroyer), Lord Brahma (creator), and Lord Vishnu (preserver).
-It can be argued that Hinduism is monotheistic not polytheistic because there is is a central god and reincarnation of that god.
- The is one god that is named Rama he is known because his family showed him a wife but he did not like her. One day Rama found a wife he liked and to show he loved her his family sent him to the woods where his wife got captured by an evil king that also liked her so Rama rushes and saves his wife from the evil king that kidnapped her.
-There is around 33 million gods from 3 main gods for each family.-There are 7 holy rivers of Hindu. They are the Ganga (most sacred of them all and purifies you if you do a sin), Yamuna, Godavari, Saraswati, Narmada, Sindhu the Indus, and Kaveri rivers. These rivers are considered sacred in Hinduism.
-Varanasi is a city in north central India and is sacred to Hindus. It is thought to be one of the world's oldest cities. Up to 1,500 temples, shrines, and other places of worship is here.
-There are holy books that are used in Hinduism uses one is called the book was called the Bhagavad Gita and the other was called Romayana which is a book of poems that has about 25,000 verses the third one is called the Vedes or the knowledge book and the fourth book called Puranas which is a book about different incarnations and tells them about saints. When they are going to pray they normally have certain spots some people chose to put their spot in the Ganga river. When they are praying at home where they have a little spot to pray to only the main god they have some kind of powder that they use to help themselves be more calm but before this they always do their daily tasks first like brush their teeth. They pray three times a day one in the early morning, one in the evening, and one at just before they are going to go to sleep.

- Another thing about Hinduism is that they believe in reincarnation or the rebirth of someones soul. Hindus believe that most souls don't reunite with Brahman (one of the Hindustan gods) immediately after death. Instead they think that each soul must first pass through many lives before they can reunite with Brahman.
- They have many festivals like Holi or known as the festival of colors this festival shows that good always overcomes evil. They will play, laugh, forgive people, and even repair broken relationships. There is another festival called Diwali or known as the festival of lights It is celebrated every fall this shows that light overcomes darkness or in other words another sign of good overcomes the bad.
- They think that Hindus think that they are monotheistic because they only believe in one creator that goes by the name Brahman.
- Some people might be thinking why do the Hindus fast? Well they fast because it is a spiritual way to purify your body. However they don't stave their own body what they do is that they just eat different foods so like a meat eater might replace it with vegetables and a vegetarian may replace rice with potatoes. They should fast for 1 day or more. Hindus observe fast in the name of god every once, twice, or more times a week.
