Today, 14 million people identify themselves as Jewish. Modern Judaism is a complex phenomenon that incorporates both a nation and a religion, and often combines strict adherence to ritual laws with a more liberal attitude towards religious belief. The Star of David is the religious symbol of the Jewish religion. Abraham, Moses, and Sarah are a couple of important people from Jewish history.Moses is important because he was one of the leaders of the chilldren of Israel and Abraham was the father of the Jewish race. Judaism doesn't focus on what to believe in but how to follow Gods commandments. Here is one Jewish belief there is one, eternal, omniscient, incorporeal, God. Judaism is monotheistic because they believe in one God. Hanukkah is one of the main Jewish holidays. In 597 BCE first deporation to Babylon, 586 BCE Jerusalem falls to Nebuchadnezzar and Solomon's Temple destroyed, 539 BCE Jews allowed to return to Jerusalem by permission of Cyrus, 520 BCE Prophecy of Zechariah, and 516 BCE Second Temple of Jerusalem consecrated.6 to 7 million in the United States, and 14.5 in Worldwide.
