• Rationale: Ability to empathise with others is an intrinsic factor which is lacking in our pupils. Pupils need to be able to see the need of others besides their own.

• Needs to include resilience and adaptability

• Rationale: Being able to be resilient and adapt to new challenges is one of the 21st CC competencies and is needed to excel. Globalisation is moving at a fast pace and pupils need to keep up with the change.

• A resilient individual who dares to take risks to innovate and create 
• Rationale: The jobs of today could be replaced due to the rise of automation and technology. In order to survive, innovation and creativity is essential to stand out.

- To include taking accountability for your actions even when no one is looking. Many jobs will be unsupervised, so there is an importance of self-supervision.

- Focus on Empathy to highlight the importance of empathy to others. Although the future is more towards automation, there will be lesser human touch, so values such as empathy will be more important. Without empathy, people will be desensitize as they interact more with computers/handphones rather than humans.

Broaden ADVENTUROUS SPIRIT
- Daring to take risks because it is a borderless world and globalisation of jobs in the future
- To include spirit of innovation and creativity in an automated world

Broaden EXCELLENCE IN ALL WE DO
- It is not just about sucess but learning from failures as there is an importance of adaptability and flexibility in the future
- Giving my best in whatever I do even if I fail

For instance, the P1 level could take ownership of 1 specific value and all the other values that are subsumed under the broad I-CARE Value of say Care and Share. That way, we could ensure deep learning of that specific school value.

- Initiative : to promote students' initiative taking so that they become independent, self-directed learners that will act to create positive changes around them.

Broaden:
- Emphasize resilience within the "Adventurous Spirit"- to deal with an increasingly VUCA world, pupils need to have the resilience to adapt and to thrive on any changes that they may encounter.
- "Care and Share" - to include putting others before self and emotional intelligence/empathy. Based on external scans, the focus is still on profit making and getting ahead, to the detriment of values and other soft skills. Through emphasizing on empathy and values, students will hopefully have a strong moral compass that will guide them in the decisions that they will make in the future.
