¨Yes I am fine.¨ and then we walked to Spanish. But, all of a sudden I remembered we had a test. Oh no I thought we had a test next week and I hadn't studied but I was too late we were already seated and taking the test. Most of the stuff on it seemed familiar but I didn't study the new things we learned in the end, I did better than I thought. But at that moment I remembered next week was finals and it was Friday I only had Saturday, Sunday, and Monday to study but I barely even understood the things we learned this week what could I even do. So I studied for hours that night and hours Saturday and Sunday but when Monday came and I reminded my friend we have finals tomorrow he panicked and said, ¨I forgot I haven't studied!¨ He started pacing in the quad I could tell he was really nervous so I told him, ¨You could come to my house and I can help you study.¨ 

¨Really?¨ he said.

¨Yes come by after school.¨ I said. And we after we studied and the time came to take the finals we were both prepared and did even better than we expected.

Have you ever seen a poster that said to buy something or vote for someone? Did it make the other company or person look bad? That is something called propaganda. Propaganda is misleading information to promote or criticize something or someone usually used to manipulate the reader or watcher. Governments use propaganda to create a false idea about the opposing side or argument to make their side seem good and ethical. Two strategies propaganda creators use are transfer and idolization.

Joey Hue had traveled from America to London for a job opportunity. He had just got off his taxi and was standing cold and bare in the rain. So, Joey looked for a hotel that he could stay in for a little while but every hotel in town was full. But then Joey saw something at the end of town, it was hard to read in the dark but he read “Be-be-bed a-a-and Br-breakfast”  so Joey made his way to the bed and breakfast and rang the doorbell. Immediately an old lady appeared and greeted him. “Hello, young man, what’s your name? said the old lady.

Have you ever been in an argument against a big group of people? As time goes on this has happened a lot and individuals have had to face a system or society. This is called the Individual vs. the System.  A few stories that show the relationship between the individual and the system would be Kuno against the society in ¨Machine Stops¨ by E.M. Forster and Wade Watts from Ready Player One. These stories also show how a technology-dominated society could benefit or harm society.

Dear President Roosevelt,

How are you? I am Akio Asahi, I am 15 years old and have been moved to one of your Japanese Internment camps. I have lived in America all my life and I had never thought this would happen to me. I had never done anything wrong but yet I and my family are stuck here in this tiny home with little food and water just because we are Japanese-Americans. We were only allowed to bring one small suitcase and we don't even have any furniture. My question is why are you doing this to us? Just because we are Japanese does not mean that we are spies for Japan. Please recall this order or at least please give us some better living conditions. I understand that we may be going to war with Japan but this is not right treating us like farm animals keeping us here in terrible conditions. People I know have been falling ill or dying because of the living conditions here. Around two weeks ago my sister Cora died and my baby brother has fallen ill. Please help us, these conditions are even unconstitutional, as the eighth amendment states no cruel or unusual punishment. Executive Order 9066 also violates the fourteenth amendment because Executive Order 9066 states that any person with Japanese ancestry was to go to one of these internment camps breaking the rule of depriving someone of life, liberty, or property. Please help us, Mr. President we are dying and being treated like animals.

Did you know that around 100 million animals like mice, frogs, rabbits, dogs, monkeys, fish, and birds die every year in U.S. laboratories from animal testing? Also, animal testing began in the 17th century so just think about how many animals died from animal testing. Animal testing is when scientists take animals and experiment on them to try to develop new medicines or test chemicals on them. Animal testing is not ethical because animal testing is not accurate, the animals involved can get injured or die, and there are new and more ethical ways of testing chemicals and treatments by using computers.

The significance of the first five chapters are significant to the pain, suffering and helplessness of Isabel and Ruth because they had to leave everything they knew behind and wouldn't even be acknowledged. In the taven Isabel and Ruth were being sold to a family of loyalists but a family friend offered to buy them giving the girls hope but in the end it just caused more suffering. Evidence that supports this is,¨ 'I want them two girls. I need the help. We'll pay cash.' 

'Keep to the kitchen, woman.' Madam's words came out sharp and loud. Did she change her mind? Will she really take us?... 'Dear husband,' she said. 'These girls are a bargain at double the price. With your permission, might we increase our offer twofold?' Lockton picked at his teeth. 'As long as we can conclude this business quickly.' Madam stared at Jenny. 'Can you top the offer?' Jenny wiped her hands on her apron, silent 'Well?' Madam Lockton demanded. Jenny shook her head. 'I cannot pay more.'¨ From page 22. This quote shows how the tavern caused hope but deep suffering afterwards as Isabel and Ruth are sold to the Locktons and the girls are helpless and in pain since Jenny, their family friend, could not buy them. In this quote Isabel gained the hope of working for Jenny and being able to stay near her home and the place her mother was buried. But, instead the Locktons doubled their offer for the girls and in the end more harm had been done than good. The other place that caused the girls to severely suffer was the graveyard where they received the news that they were to go with Mr. Robert.
