Around midnight, Shavown told us a scary story, about a graveyard just outside of her bedroom window. Tanzania and I were so scare that we cried to go home. My Aunt Ollie drove to Scottsburg Elem at midnight to meet my mom. Boy was my mom mad! Shavown called us babies! Yes, I admitted it! I was scared and a big baby! I am not sure if Tanzania was as scare as I was, but it was comforting to know that she supported me eventhrough she knew that we would be getting a 'talkin to' from my mom. Thank you Nia for those sweet memories! Missing you!

I remember one Sunday she sang this contemporary song that we all were a little nervous about, us being Spanish Grove and all, (old school gospel is our thing) Lol. But she opened her mouth and sang "Let me touch you and see if you are real..." Her Bluesy voice filled that church and every heart. Nia ushered in the Holy Ghost that day and gave way to us singing about Jesus anyway we wanted. Mom showed up with Big stick after 3rd time calling for us come home.  I remember bus rides... how we would all sing newest songs out.  When gas curlers were hot we'd curl hair on the way to school. With Nia we colored our hair with Kool-aid, we agreed the tropical punch and grape flavors were best. I also remember her bravery and strong faith in God when she got her transplant... NO FEAR she was filled with Faith, Gratitude and praise.  In the good times and bad she always mustered up a smile and something positive. Gonna miss you cuz.  Rest easy and smile down on us from up there.
