1. I was impressed by the teacher's dedication to her students and teaching the content well. Dr. Cai did a very good job at explaining and teaching us while also making the work fun. If we had a different teacher, I don't think I would have learned Chinese as well. I was also impressed by how there was such a large variety in the projects. Every project we did was different, and every time we started a new one I was excited to see the outcome and create my own. Lao shi was the most caring, compassionate teacher that we've had all year and I appreciate everything she did to help the class. She would help us when we were confused about projects, and she treated us like her own children. Thank you lao shi.
2. Learning the characters will help the most because the characters are necessary to write in Chinese. It is easier to learn to pronounce words, because it is similar to english, but memorizing characters is harder so we got a good head start on that. Learning the basic sentence structures and greetings was also useful, because if we go to China or need to speak Chinese, we will be able to communicate to the locals. Weather and food are very important, because they are things that we use every day.
3. When people present their projects and they're all unique. Some people make videos or play an instrument and act, and they keep the projects fun and interesting. An experience I liked was when Monette played guitar, and her group stood under an umbrella and sang. It made the project entertaining to watch, and showcased everyone's talent. I also liked the fashion show because we each got to express our creativity and individuality. We picked the songs, slides, dances, and we got to make our own clothes, and I think that was the most fun project we've had.
4. Thank you for being an excellent teacher, and everyone else for being such involved students. You were the best Chinese teacher I've ever had. We didn't have a strict homework schedule like other classes, which I appreciate, because it meant we got to learn Chinese on our own time. When we did have homework, it helped us learn and was usually done in groups so that we could build each other up and learn from each other.
5. It impressed me that I was able to understand the chinese sentence structure after a few lesson, and apply my knowledge to new words and phrases that I learned.

2. If I continued to learn chinese, the part of this class that would help me the most is the group conversations. The group conversations allowed me to utilize the words that I learned and practice them in a semi real world setting.

3. The most interesting thing that happened in this class is the chinese culture day from year one. We ate chinese food, did calligraphy, and arts and crafts. A full on cultural experience.

4. Thank you very much for the teachings over these two years. will make sure to keep and improve my knowledge.

5. Hopefully this language learning will help me learn italian in the near future. Chinese class is great and all, but I am more interested in learning italian.

1. This class instilled discipline within me. Learning how to teach myself and others through projects and the positive reinforcement I received by 老师 helped me excel within the class. The concept of discipline is imperative because it is a concept that will carry over into my college career. Being able to teach myself effectively, and showcase this knowledge through conversations, projects, and written assignments
2. The part of the class that will assist me with continuing my pursuit in learning Chinese would be the application of grammar and radicals unique to this language. These aspects of written and verbal Chinese are significant because they draw out the creativity and understanding nature of the individual who uses them.
3. The most interesting thing that occurred within this class was the projects. The projects were fun, creative, and exciting to complete for they reflected our knowledge in not only understanding the concepts that were taught, but providing a means by which we could easily memorize, transfer, and apply this knowledge to other aspects of the language.
4. I am forever thankful to have a patient, compassionate, and creative teacher. You have made learning a different language for me exciting, and have instilled within me the value of open mindedness towards others cultures and beliefs. Additionally, you have taught me the value of communication. Communication is the means by which different people become one, and I truly feel bonded with my classmates when in this class. Although the concepts were difficult at first, you pushed and trusted in us to work hard and overcome all obstacles. You were understanding and truly cared for the wellbeing of your students. On belief of all the students, I thank you.
5. 我爱我的大家！

First of all I would like to point out that this class was very well directed and taught by the teacher. I can tell the class learned many things during the past year. I can also tell that these lessons will not be forgotten and neither will the experiences we have had.
1. The parts of the class that impressed me the most was the fact that we were able to learn much quicker and better than when we first began during the beginning of year one. Furthermore, I would like to point out that in addition to our Chinese vocabulary expanding, our thoughts and respect for the Chinese culture has also expanded.
2. If I were to continue to learn Chinese in college I would most benefit from the sentence structures of the fruits and weather as well. The Chinese currency would also be quite helpful if I were to ever travel to China.
3. The most interesting thing that happened during these classes were definitely the projects. The projects were all unique and abstract from other students. Through making our presentation we learned many vocabulary words and from presenting we learned how to say them and the correct sentence structure.
4. The only things I would like to say are that this class has been very enjoyable and entertaining and that I have also learned many things in respect to having fun.
5. 谢谢 ！

1. The different structures of the sentences was very interesting to see. It's so different from English. You actually have to think about how you would say it in English, and then how you would say it in Chinese. It was surprising how easily I could think like that after awhile. It was also very impressive to see how you could understand the meaning from previously learned characters and radicals.
2. Knowing how to pronounce the tones and pinyin will be very helpful to me if I continue to learn Chinese. This will make saying new characters and sentences easier because I'll already have an understanding of how to say the words.
3. I think the most interesting thing that happened was watching the Chinese movies in class. I could hear and recognize some of the words that I had already learned, which was really neat. It was also fun to see how good the movies were! I might end up rewatching one of them at some point.
4. 谢谢！I've always enjoyed this class and learning another language. You've made Chinese really enjoyable for me, and I would like to continue to learn outside of school. I want to thank you, again, for always being so nice and understanding to me. Also, you make class very fun! I value this type of learning, as it has made me greatly appreciate this class and Chinese.
2. The interesting perspectives on radicals and what they look like in characters is extremely helpful, as Chinese is a pictorial language, radicals serve to help me memorize the meaning of certain characters.
3. Thank you for being such an understanding and engaging teacher, you have made learning this language seem so much more achievable than it did to me 2 years ago.

This class and teacher have given me the opportunity to learn a language, and the culture associated with it. Our classwork was sometimes challenging, but through 老师's teaching, we were able to complete it. Our homework was not heavy. Our projects were often difficult, but very rewarding. These projects asked for a lot of creativity from us, ranging from creative slideshows to drawings of fruit people. I am impressed by the work that we have made, as a class, due to 老师's encouragement. Taking this class has not only prepared me for understanding and communicating in Chinese, but also by preparing me to use the study skills I used to learn Chinese. 老师 is an amazing teacher who was able to teach a language so that I could learn, retain, and utilize the information. 老师 is not only a great teacher, but a good person. She cares about her students' well being and shows her concern for us. Overall, this year has been rewarding, and I am thankful for 老师's teaching.

I was also impressed with the method the teacher used to help us better understand the material and how to use it in our everyday life by having the students have conversations in Chinese.
2. Everything that was taught in this class will help me if I were to take Chinese in the future. The websites that were provided by the teacher would be very helpful in getting a better understanding of Chinese.
3. The most interesting thing that we did in this class were the group projects. They were a lot of fun to do and were also helpful in allowing us to learn more Chinese.
4. Thank you for helping us learn Chinese throughout these two years!

1. What impressed me the most was how each character had traditional roots. Although most people believe that Chinese characters are just a group of straight and curved lines, it was interesting to see the roots behind each stroke of the character.
2. I believe the weather would definitely help because because its an easy conversation starter and it was easier for me to remember the terms.
3. Although this was not in class, the chinese new year celebration we did last year was fun because the food and the performances were enjoyable.
4. Thank you for being such an influential and efficient teacher!
5. I enjoyed last year a little bit better because you taught most of the information rather than making us learn individually, but that's just my preference

What this class impressed you the most?
This class taught me that communication is key when working in groups. Being able to speak two languages will ultimately lead to you having a greater chance and better jobs. Studying hard allowed me to grow my vocabulary, and allowed me to speak more fluently. Allowing the students to create project for each other was great because it made learning easier and allowed for everyone to be creative in their teaching ways.
2. If you continue to learn Chinese in your college year which part from this class will help you the most?
The group project would definitely help because they allowed for me to see everyone's way of understanding making my knowledge even stronger.
3. The most interesting thing we've studied was the Chinese traditional medicine
4/5. I've taken foreign languages but the most challenging of languages i've taken has been Chinese. This is because it had a completely different structure and i had to really start knowing nothing. I appreciate having taken Chinese because i was forced to figure out how i learn and how to study. It also led me to seek learning other languages without latin roots and to not be afraid of a new culture and or language. Thank you lao shi :)

1. This class has impressed me the most with the amount of projects that gave us more insight into not only the Chinese language but culture. Although it might have beeb hard at times, we were allowed to work with classmates and use our resources.
2. If I continue to learn Chinese in college the thing from this class that will help me will probably be my notes. The teacher provided very organized presentations for us to understand and take organized notes for ourselves. These teachings helped us learn how to remember characters, use the right tones, and create sentences of our own.
3. The most interesting thing that has happened in this class includes watching various movies and singing various songs. Which were both fun to do and expanded our knowledge of the language while making us laugh and having a good time.
4. Thank you for being the teacher that expands our knowledge beyond that of the American language and culture. I like the ways we were taught to make connections with both cultures while learning a new language that will be useful later on.
5. This class was stressful at times because I had a hard time remembering how to write characters although I could read them, but throughout much practice I believe I finished off the class on a good note.
