Marked by extreme difficulty in relationships stemming from real or imagined feelings of abandonment and corresponding inconsistencies of emotion and behavior. Behavior is often erratic and inconsistent with real threats (e.g. strong reaction to someone laughing, thinking the person was laughing at him/her, though person has no contact with him/her)

-Also known as psychopathy or sociopathy

-Large percentage of people with this disorder have recognizable behavior by age 15

-Treatment for this disorder is rarely sought. Because of this, there is a limited amount of insight into the symptoms of this disorder, and treatment options are limited. Long term insight oriented therapy has been known to be effective in treatment, but getting an individual to begin therapy is a major obstacle.

- reduced ability to feel empathy for other people

- usually results in irresponsible behavior

Narcissistic Personality Disorder

-long standing pattern of grandiosity

-need for admiration

-lack of empathy

-diagnosed mainly in adulthood

Symptons: self-importance, power and ideal, feels special, needs admiration, entitlement, exploit others, lack empathy, envious, arrogant. (Need to be diagnosed of at least 5 of these symptoms before considered with this disorder within 1 year)

-Treatements by psychaitrist and medication
