Beverly Hills 90210 is a television series that aired in the United States between 1990 and 2000, created by producers Aaron Spelling and Darren Star. The 90210 of the title refers to the ZIP Code (the U.S. equivalent of the zip code) of the city of Beverly Hills, Los Angeles County.

The subject was original: for the first time, in fact, a television series proposed to tell adolescents for what they were and still are today, addressing delicate issues such as drugs, AIDS, sexuality and alcoholism. The story begins with twin brothers Brandon (Jason Priestley) and Brenda (Shannen Doherty) Walsh who with their parents move from Minneapolis to Beverly Hills, where their father has been transferred for work, and are faced with a new world, a new school, the exclusive West Beverly High School, and new friendships.

Here the Walshes soon integrated into high society, while remaining down-to-earth and never losing their middle-class roots. Among the students of West Beverly there is the beautiful and popular Kelly Taylor (Jennie Garth), a fragile girl with a disastrous family (her mother constantly changes partners), a past of anorexia and drugs and a future full of uncertainties. The relationship between Kelly and Brenda is immediately one of love / hate, alternating moments of great friendship with others of bitter and open contrast. The latter will become more acute when the two find themselves contending for Dylan McKay (Luke Perry), a rich and worldly boy who cannot stay away from trouble. . David Silver (Brian Austin Green) is the somewhat clumsy DJ, who will fall in love with the sweet, shy and virginal Donna Martin (Tori Spelling) and become her long-time boyfriend. Initially it will seem that love may be born between Brandon and Andrea, but then the relationship will settle on a great and intense friendship. Last of the group is Steve Sanders (Ian Ziering), a boy with a heart of gold, son of a famous actress and particularly prone to throwing himself into complicated projects and getting into trouble, from which he is often pulled out of the wise and providential Brandon. After graduation, the boys' adventures continue in college and then in the world of work, with a cast that is constantly renewed between striking abandonments (as mentioned, Shannen Doherty will be the first to leave the series, Gabrielle Carteris, Luke Perry and Jason Priestley will follow) and arrivals destined to make people talk (around the gloomy character of Valerie Malone, played by Tiffani-Amber Thiessen will rotate many developments). The show ends in the 10th season with the return of the Dylan-Kelly couple and the marriage between Donna and David which will also sanction a small reunion of the original cast (except Shannen Doherty), who rushed for the wedding party. A staple of the boys' lives is their meeting place, the Peach Pit, where the manager, Nat Bussicchio, sees these boys grow up, giving, from time to time, paternal advice.

Brenda lives an important story with Dylan, a boy with whom she loses her virginity but not much loved by her parents. In fact, after returning home late for the umpteenth time, Brenda's father forbids her to go away for the weekend with Dylan and so the two secretly flee from the family to Mexico, but due to the lack of Brenda's identity documents they are stopped at the border letting the Walshes know the truth. Dad Jim's order not to see his beloved boy anymore will not help much, as the stubborn Brenda takes clothes and luggage and moves in with young McKay. Coexistence does not prove easy and to find an agreement with her parents, Brenda decides to leave for Paris to clear her head, not knowing that during her absence the beloved boy weaves a relationship with her friend Kelly, a story that will end their relationship.
