Monthly Forge Group

Then, each month, your group of 5-6 people will meet to share your experiences with the catalysts, share and examine your creative work, and encourage one another. The main focus of the time will be our “wise-hearted inquiry.”

Each time, one or two group members will be invited to “step onto the Forge floor.” You’ll will share a piece of work, part of your process, an experience, or challenge you’ve faced for the group to attend to.

Using a similar process to group spiritual direction, we invite directed, thoughtful inquiry through questioning and discernment.

Ongoing Rhythm

This work doesn’t happen in isolation. The Spiritual Collectives and Word & Work: A Biblical Imagination Studio are the rhythms and community that sustain it. They allow this wise-hearted way of working to become a way of life.

Throughout the seven months you’ll have the opportunity to take advantage of our ongoing soul|maker rhythms of Spiritual Collectives and Word & Work: A Biblical Imagination Studio. These are vibrant tools to include in your own “rule” of life and work. We highly recommend you participate in the group sessions, but the materials will be available to you to do on your own as your schedule dictates.

Weekly Catalyst Assignment

Each week a new "Catalyst" assignment will appear on the board. It's an invitation to attentive inquiry on one of the seven spheres. Each sphere asks you to confront deeper questions about your calling, your imagination, and the responsibility your work carries in the world.

The weekly catalyst will include a challenge, an act of creative defiance, or a spiritual confrontation.

One week builds upon another so that over the month your work, process and spiritual life are growing together.

Monthly Optional Quench

Each month starting in October, we'll host a live check-in and connection time for all the groups to meet as one. This is an optional gathering designed to keep the encouragement and accountability going throughout the month and to facilitate connection between the groups.
