Mother demonstrates fear though her speech. The text states, "Any time I brought up the subject of the Golden Mountain, Mother suddenly found something going wrong in our farm" (Yep 2). Mother is obviously trying to avoid talking about it. She is scared about what might happen to Father.

Unhappy- Chapter 7

Father is unhappy about the letter Moon Shadow wrote to the Wright Brothers. He shows this through his speech. The text states, "You talk too much" Father snapped" (Yep 168). Father was upset and thought it seemed like begging. A day later he let it go, and they decided to write another letter to them.

Heroic - Chapter 8

Moon Shadow showed that he was heroic through his actions. The text states, "He never expected me to stand up and fight... I swung out and my fist went right into his face" (Yep 184). A kid named Jack was bullying Moon Shadow, and so, Moon Shadow decided to stand up for himself. He was very confident

Embarrassed - Chapter 9

Miss. Whitlaw showed embarrassment through her speech. The text states, "What? Oh, my." Miss Whitlaw was suddenly horrified to be found in her nightgown in public" (Yep 201). Miss Whitlaw was very embarrassed after being seen in public with her nightgown on. After that, she quickly hurried inside.

Dedicated- Chapter 11

Father shows dedication through his actions in building the aeroplane. The text states," Father built controls for the vertical rudders and the warping mechanism of the wing following the design of the Wrights" (Yep 272). Father is very dedicated and determined to finish his aeroplane. Because it is Father's dream to fly.

Guilt- Chapter 4

Moon Shadow shows guilt through his thoughts. The text states, " I suddenly felt very guilty, for in all the excitement if slowly learning about Father and living in the demon land, I had not really had time to think about Mother" (Yep 78). Moonshadow, in other words felt ashamed that he had not taken in consideration for his Mother.

Committed - Chapter 12

Moon Shadow shows commitment through his actions when he pulls the ropes on a wagon to get Dragonwings up a hill. The text states, "The ropes burned at my hands so that the rope fibers seemed to brand my skin" (Yep 298). Moon Shadow really wanted to help pull the Dragonwings glider up the hill. Even if it meant he would get a little hurt.

Forgetful- Chapter 2

Black Dog demonstrates that he is forgetful through his actions and speech. The text states, "Where were you boy?" Uncle demanded. "I told you we were all going to be down at the dock" "It slipped my mind, Father" (Yep 37). Black Dog completely forgot about meeting his Father at the dock. By not showing up, his actions demonstrate carelessness.

Nervous- Chapter 11

Moon Shadow shows nervousness through his thoughts and actions. The text states, "It was around the end of that same August of 1909 that I began to get jumpy-like I was being watched sometimes from the trees, sometimes from the vacant mansion. At first I told myself it was just nerves" (Yep 275). Moon Shadow was nervous for Dragonwings' (the aeroplane Father had built) first test flight. They spent a lot of money and time to build it.

Eager- Chapter 9

Robin was eager to use the antique pistol. The text states, "Robin now had the antique pistol, and looked eager to use it that I was sure she would discourage any would-be thief" (Yep 222). Moon Shadow was positive that Robin would defend herself and the others from the thieves with the pistol. SHe was eager to use it.

Adventurous- Chapter 3

The Dragon Lord showed that he was adventurous through his actions. "The Lord flew effortlessly, twisting his body in curls and spirals the way a skilled dancer can take a twenty-foot ribbon and make it form graceful designs behind her" (Yep 57). Even though The Dragon Lord is old he still carelessly and effortlessly is able to fly.

Cruel - Chapter 5

Uncle is showing cruelty through his speech. The text states, "I'll cut of his head and throw it onto the gutter where the dogs can eat it" (Yep 106). Uncle was talking about his own son! It was very harsh of him to say that, even if his son did something very bad. It would be very hurtful to have that be said about someone.

Nosey - Chapter 6

Robin shows that she is nosey through her actions. The text states, "You said I wasn't to look," the demon girl said as she got up dusting herself off. "You didn't say anything about listening" (Yep 135). Robin crashed in the kitchen. She was trying to spy on them and listened through the door, but lost her balance. Her curiosity got the best of her.

Impatient - Chapter 11

Father shows that he is impatient through his speech. The text states, "Well," Father demanded impatiently. "What does your mother say?" (Yep 264). Father is anxious to see mother's letter.

Ruthless - Chapter 11

Black Dog shows that he is ruthless through his speech. The text states, "I'd like you to find the beauty in my cutting off your nose and ears" (Yep 278-279). Black Dog is being were mean and threatening Moon Shadow.
