It starts with author giving his story first then continuing after the other Wes story stops. The books has many displays both the hardships they faced growing up as a kid with little care in the world on how they grew up. Both of them have almost the exact same fate but the author chooses to actually try to do better for himself while the other hardly tried to fix his life at all.
