1. Why and how do we study literature? Why do we study TTTC?
To learn ways to convey and understand emotion, world problems, and events that happen and how we can deal or prevent them Through literature and its devices . We read TTTC to get an understanding of the ways literature can be controlled and to understand the world problem of trauma.

2. How are we affected by literary texts in various ways? How are we impacted by TTTC? We/ I learn from them understanding the meaning of the text and bettering myself with the knowledge I/we get. We read TTTC to understand the trauma of war and to relays it is up to us to prevent an unjust war like Vietnam from happening again  


3. In what ways is meaning constructed, negotiated, expressed and interpreted in TTTC? In TTTC meaning is constructed through the stories and events that O’Brian and other soldier went through during the Vietnam war drawing emphasis on there emotions making it easier to connect


4. How does the structure of style of TTTC affect its meaning? The way O’Brian talks about the stories and events emphasis his and the other soldiers' emotions make the reader more connected and sympathetic to the soldiers and O’Brian putting themselves in their shoes and understanding more throwing what O,Brian is saying.

  • The speaker is a african american who is well read Knowledgeable about the news of his day states “I don't like this jim crow army or this him crow navy or the lily-white marines Licking up the gravy”. The speaker is referring to the hate group like the kkk as the army of jim crow that the government is leading do to them not abolishing the discriminatory laws. this is confusing for the speaker because the president at the time I blive Harry truman was making speeches asking for freedom for the jews in germany who were being subjugated by adolf hitlere and the fins and chelivocians who where also subjugated by their governments  yet the president and government that talked so strongly angst the oppression of these people still let the jim crow law stand that ?

    • “ we work and pay our taxes our patriotism good” we referring to african americans taxes referring to how they work just as hard as any person no matter the race and they are as patriotic as any fighting like the whits soldiers so why under the government is it still ok to pay them lefts why under the government is there still discriminaton  

    • speaker  asks president to make in his next speech clear and take and all out stand when speaking to the english men across the sea he asks for the president ot be clear next time when addressing the english on his opinion of ww2 to talk about the african americans not just the jews or the fins or the chelivockens  

    • “if we have to fight - we ought to be together Black and Whte” that the usa should not fight each other  over race meaning they can work together. so he is asking for the gov or president to stop confusing people making distrust between them in his/ there speeches and get rid of the laws of subjugation in there U.S.A. before going and fighting for it abroad 

    • last 5 pages lines “ for me” it “ would put a whole lot more meaning in democracy” tide back to earlier they have the right but the government is not letting listening to them they are not being a democracy when only looking after one race in politics a bit like english colonist in the american rev so in the president did say freedom for the African americans it would show that why did have a voice in government that they were represented putting a lot more meaning of representation  into the united states of america's government
