Today there was no morning assembly and no relief classes so I spent 5 hours in developing new teaching slides, plans, and set of materials. At 12:15 p.m., I went to my class for two periods and then I was teaching my students how to write a postcard. They were all genuinely impressed and thankful when I produced 34 hard, attractive, real individually addressed postcards that one could write on. I told them to complete writing during the English lesson then stick their postcards in their essay notebooks. I was very surprised how much they valued my passion to help them learn.

I had only one teaching class for two periods and another relief class for one period only. At 9:30 a.m., When I joined my teaching class I found that ten students were attending the ‘raptai pancaragam’, it means twenty four students were there. I allowed them to play an English language game during the two periods because I wanted to have all postcard writing groups understand how to write a postcard. During the 7th period, at 11:10 a.m., I joined my relief class for 3J and ordered them to do their homework.

WEDNESDAY 21 August

I taught two classes today. At 8:50 a.m., I entered class 3K and taught them the same topic: how to write a postcard. Because the class had a problem with the projector, I carry my own to ensure that there is a smooth flow as per my desire of ensuring the students are provided with the best education. Not surprisingly, the students were genuinely thrilled, and so were their parents, mainly because each of the students got a lovely postcard, and in addition to that, they all enjoyed the privilege of picking a card design of their liking. I told them to do the writing in the class and then glue the postcards in their essay books.

It was a challenging day for me. At 7:30 a.m., there was an assembly ceremony, and I had to wait until it concluded. Afterward, I waited for the 3S students to go to the "pameran bus" in the hall. As an inexperienced practicum teacher, I made a small mistake—I assumed they all knew to go straight to the bus at the allocated time. However, one of the 3S students kindly informed me that they were already aware of the timing. The teacher in charge stood beside the bus without addressing the situation or instructing me to call the students.

For the second class, I guided the students to complete a present perfect tense worksheet during class. I was able to discuss the worksheet with them before they had to leave early for the Youth Campaign.

I had one teaching class today for Class 3S. I explained the concept of hyperbole and for the lesson they were given the task to produce dialogue comic conversations.
