 Kids threw snowballs at British soldiers while men held clubs and shouted. In the midst of the chaos the word "Fire!" rung in the air as well as gunshots. Five colonists dead, yet the soldiers where found not-guilty. Paul Revere later made an engraving of what we call today "The Boston Massacre". France surrendered the war in 1763. The British did gain a great amount of land, but the expenses of the war had increased by 13 million dollars! In 1764 British regulations focused on the good of the empire, but as the colonies grew older the colonists became more independent. Not only did they throw tea of of the ships, they also dressed up as Natives. To make sure the tea couldn't be prospered, they cut the carts open with axes so water could seep in. When the colonists noticed what was happening, they cheered with joy. There was so much tea, you could see it on top of the water. Money made from the taxes were used to fund British troops and colonial administration, specifically the French and Indian War. The colonists were so fed up with the law and parliament, they protested because they did not get a say in any of it. The Stamp Act provoked hostility and anger, and soon the colonists organized a Stamp Act Congress. The Congress wanted to fight back to parliament, so they wrote the Declaration of Rights. The letter was signed and written by the Second Continental Congress. The last thing the colonists wanted to do was go to war and die because of disagreements with the king. It explained that the colonists were ready to fight if all of the laws and disagreements wouldn't be resolved.
