         <description><![CDATA[<div><em>My name is Stacy Cave.  This is my 14</em><em><sup>th</sup></em><em> year as a counselor in HEB ISD.  I graduated from Texas A&amp;M University in May of 1999 and began my teaching career in HEB ISD.  I taught Kindergarten and First grade at South Euless before transferring to River Trails, where I taught Kindergarten for four years.  I received my Master’s Degree in Counseling from the University of North Texas and have worked at South Euless since 2006 as a Counselor.  I'm so happy to be back at River Trails in a new role!</em></div>]]></description>

         <title>Procedures for Reporting Allegations of Bullying</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br></div><div><strong>Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD<br></strong><br></div><div>The district prohibits bullying on school property, at school-sponsored or school-related activities, or in any vehicle operated by the district.  Bullying may be verbal or written expression or expression through electronic means, or physical conduct.  Bullying is not tolerated by the district and any student or parent of a student who believes that the student or another student has experienced bullying or that a student has engaged in bullying is encouraged to immediately report the incident.  Retaliation against anyone involved in the complaint process is a violation of district policy and is prohibited.<br><br></div><div>Students or parents may report an alleged incident of bullying, orally or in writing, to a teacher, counselor, principal or other district employee.  Students or parents may contact the district to obtain an incident report form that may be used to submit the complaint.<br><br></div><div>Please note that after submission of the complaint to the district employee, the district may assign the complaint to a campus administrator to follow up on the submitted complaint and any other important matters pertaining to the complaint.  We encourage you to communicate with your designated campus administrator during this time.<br><br></div><div>More information about the district’s bullying policy can be found at <a href="http://pol.tasb.org/Policy/Download/1110?filename=FFI(LOCAL).pdf">http://pol.tasb.org/Policy/Download/1110?filename=FFI(LOCAL).pdf</a> or the campus administration office.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>While it is important that a student's conversations with a school counselor be kept confidential, confidentiality does have its limitations. According to the American School Counselor Association's Ethical Standards for School Counselors, counselors must "keep information confidential unless legal requirements demand that confidential information be revealed or a breach is required to prevent serious and foreseeable harm to the student."(American School Counselor Association [ASCA], 2010).</div><div> </div><div><strong>The most frequent type of breaches include a student verbalizing the following:</strong></div><div>1. Verbal, Physical or Sexual Abuse</div><div>2. Neglect</div><div>3. A desire to harm him/herself</div><div>4. A desire to harm someone else</div><div>5.
