I Think that this novel has a negative impression on its readers because it encourages violence, at the end of the novel Starr is described to be throwing a smoke bomb at the cops, although this action was evoked, I still think that this novel gives the wrong message. We chose this discussion from all of our flipgrid dialogues because many of our group members had different  opinions about the message being conveyed. some of us think that this book conveys a positive message because it is teaching us to stand up for what we believe in. our other member argues that even though it is teaching you to stand up for your self it is telling readers the only ways to do it is through violence. we chose this discussion because we also wanted to understand why this book was being banned. With this discussion` we are able to see different standpoint/ opinions about this novel. She might have put the violence part just so we could see/ understand a new perspective.
