         <description><![CDATA[<p>The evolution of awareness around addiction. In the early 1900s, addiction was depicted as a mental illness which inflicted the "degenerate and feeble-minded". In modern day, society has continued to work against that stigma and reframe addiction as an illness which requires medical care and recovery.</p>]]></description>
