My youngest attends a really cool charter school with an agricultural focus. I Supervise the Early Head Start Home Visiting Program as well as a partnership with Family Childcare Providers. I graduated form the University of Maine at Farmington in 1994 with a BA in Early Childhood Education.  I started working for my agency in 1994 and have been there since only taking a few years off to stay home with my boys.  I love working there and have developed amazing relationships with staff there and the families that I have worked with.  I truly am who I am today because of my work experiences.  I have very close work "peeps" that offer each other professional, personal and life support.  This is a picture of a part of my team while at a conference we found this trash can that says "Your boss is not your friend".  We beg to differ and do things a little differently. I look forward to continuing in this Master's program and strengthening my leadership skills. 
Although I miss direct service, I have found this role to be inspiring and enjoyable.  I like to see the big picture and want to see the changes needed to support all the families in our communities.  Maine has a lot of families that struggle every day to make ends meet. 
I am excited to continue my journey of obtaining my M.A in Organizational Leadership and Change because I feel this aligns with my career goals.  I work for a Community Action Agency and the Agency is strategically planning inspirational changes to have all the programs collaborate and blend.  I have been asked to be part of this process and looking forward to incorporate school and work together.
