I am the mom to 3 "big" teenage boys. They keep me busy and on my toes all the time. They are active in sports, hunting, fishing, and tractor pulling. Living in Maine offers lots of opportunities to be outside enjoying nature. Currently all 3 boys still live at home and my 2 oldest work full time. My youngest attends a really cool charter school with an agricultural focus. He starts classes again on September 11, 2018 and is now working at a bear camp in the Maine woods.

I work for a Community Action Agency and am a HomeBased Supervisor. I Supervise the Early Head Start Home Visiting Program as well as a partnership with Family Childcare Providers. I graduated form the University of Maine at Farmington in 1994 with a BA in Early Childhood Education. I started working for my agency in 1994 and have been there since only taking a few years off to stay home with my boys. I love working there and have developed amazing relationships with staff there and the families that I have worked with. I truly am who I am today because of my work experiences. I have very close work "peeps" that offer each other professional, personal and life support. This is a picture of a part of my team while at a conference we found this trash can that says "Your boss is not your friend". We beg to differ and do things a little differently. I look forward to continuing in this Master's program and strengthening my leadership skills.
Although I miss direct service, I have found this role to be inspiring and enjoyable. I like to see the big picture and want to see the changes needed to support all the families in our communities. Maine has a lot of families that struggle every day to make ends meet.

I am excited to continue my journey of obtaining my M.A in Organizational Leadership and Change because I feel this aligns with my career goals. I work for a Community Action Agency and the Agency is strategically planning inspirational changes to have all the programs collaborate and blend. I have been asked to be part of this process and looking forward to incorporate school and work together.

I have lived in Maine most of my life. It is a great place to live and it is very beautiful. I love the 4 seasons and the beauty of all the lakes and ocean. I do not care for the long winters or snow and cold. Someday I hope to plan a trip to California to see the West Coast and now Pacific Oaks. Here is what it looks like out my front window during snow storms. I thought some of you might enjoy this that do not live where you get a lot of snow.
