HYPROCRITE

A woman walks on a street with her son. The son touches a mushy dark brown stain on the wall and smells his finger. The woman cries "Hey! Don't do that, it's horribly uncouth!"
The abruptness of his mother's cry jerks him backwards and he regains his step, and continues to walk alongside his mother. Two minutes later, he looks up and and sees her mom picking her nose.

A hypocrite is one who contradicts his own rules, beliefs or statements. There are many types of hypocrites. One that is a fool and cannot see reason due to their strongly-held delusions, and the other who is just stubborn and suffers from a superiority complex, which too distorts his sense of reality, and will not see how unreasonable they are. The third one is the most pure form of a hypocrite. He knows he is wrong, but FEELS that he is right. When he is challenged and cannot argue back, his hypocrisy turns into a superiority complex and thinks he is better than others, therefore his own rules do not apply to him.

The deluded hypocrite is one who contradicts himself yet, when someone expresses this, his deluded sense of reason makes him truly believe that he is right. For example, if one says to "protect the environment", yet uses plastic cups instead of dishwashing detergent, and someone points out that using non-reusable plastic cups are destroying the environment, he will come up with some absurd logic. For example, he might claim that "95% of non-reusable plastic cups are recycled, whereas dishwashing detergent are produced and imported from Africa, therefore the planes that import these detergents destroy the environment more than using plastic cups!" When someone proves that his facts are wrong through a study or another source, he will question the source and doubt it, claiming that the "scientists and researchers were fools!" This type of hypocrite is one who fails to see reason and strongly believes that he is right. Such hypocrites suffer from self-delusion, and their worldview is heavily distorted, and might come across as stubborn, because he is stubborn to accept the truth, but to him, he isn't stubborn, because to him, this worldview is the ultimate correct worldview.

The second type of hypocrite is where his own rules do not apply to him. Such a hypocrite often have a superiority complex that deters him from seeing reason. Instead of being delusional, his ego distorts his reasoning. He cannot possibly be wrong. For example, a man that states "one should not judge others!" yet continues to talk about how fat women are ugly. When confronted, he will reason his way out, stating that he was not judging, merely sharing, and that "why can't these people exercise?!?!"

Finally, the most pure form of hypocrisy is one whose own rules do not apply to himself. He hates it when someone double parks him. Yet when he cannot find a parking spot, he will numb himself to emotion and double park another car. To him he is always right because he is superior, despite knowing he is wrong. Yet he is never wrong, because after all, isn't he the greatest almighty being in the world? Rules do not apply to such a hypocrite.

His priorities were dominated by sports, and he seemed careless about his studies. The general type of girls he tends to go for are cheerleaders, and with such impeccable physical features, it’s fairly easy to get those who fall in that category. Who is “he”? He was a jock.

A stereotypical jock is contrasting to a normal athlete. According to research, there is no correlation between academic and athletic success. However, in a jock’s case, the only thing they seem to care about is sports. Nothing else.

Dork

I’m sure that anyone that has been to school has heard the term “dork” before. May it be during friendly banter or locker room talk, it’s a phrase common to students while teasing others. But what is a dork?

The wikipedia definition says that a dork is a dull, slow-witted, or socially inept person. But is it always a bad thing? Maybe.

Dork is often misinterpreted as “nerd” or “geek”. If someone says it about themselves, it’s usually in an amusing and self-deprecating way. Dorks are normally the type of people who will do silly things and they’ll necessarily be the ones making grand gestures to make people laugh. If the dork is aware that they are a dork, then it’s funny. If they’re not aware, then it’s painful to watch such a socially uncomfortable person try to get by. The self-aware dork is able to not take themselves too seriously.

They are not self-centered however they are able to do what they want without caring about others’ opinions. Even the dork who is not self-aware is able to make others feel more comfortable simply because of their silliness.

Even though being a dork is not necessarily a good thing, it is not always a bad thing either. It depends on the context.

Calling someone a “dork” might be an alternative to calling someone stupid or dumb.

Dorks are silly but not always cool. Even so, they are funny in their own ways and can be themselves while disregarding the negative comments or even embracing them.
