She relies on effective treatments like IFS (Internal Family Systems) to help people overcome their challenges, especially those related to trauma. Moreover, Dr. Carole Orem-Hough treats traumatic brain injury as well as cognitive decline using a technique called “qEEG guided neurofeedback.” To support her with her clinical skills she attends the International Society for Neurofeedback Annual Conference. 

In preparation to becoming a licensed clinical psychologist in Maine, Dr. Carole Orem completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Maine Medical Center in Portland. While there, she conducted group and individual psychotherapy sessions in addition to teaching a treatment method called DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy). 
 Before transitioning to the psychology field, Dr. Orem-Hough worked as an industrial engineer with Eli Lilly and Company in Indianapolis. Her responsibilities included conducting productivity analyses in preparation for automation.
