Struggles I am having in collecting my sources is due to how specific my research question is. Since my question is in Asian American Education and how their environment affects that, there is not much information on it so far. I also can't find a gap of knowledge. However, I used summarizing my search and using different platforms to find more sources that can help with my essay.

My research question has changed a lot since my first preliminary question. At the beginning, my question was "To what extent does listening to music while studying improve students ability to absorb information?" Since then, I have changed my research question to whether Asian Americans surroundings (racial comments or family) impact their education. The reason why I changed this is because I thought this topic would interest me more and I already previously looked into the topic.

The most helpful peer feedback on my current research question is to consider what classes Asian American students take (normal, honors, AP). This made me think about specific classes in which Asian Americans are able to succeed. Thoughts I had after this feedback activity was to overall consider the time I will have on this research essay and to narrow my question.

When learning about ethical research, i've learned to be VERY careful when considering ethics. Since I am collecting surveys, I need to make sure the people who are doing the surveys are safe. Ethical research practices are essential to make sure the people are able to feel comfortable and safe in what they are doing in the research. For example, I should make sure they are anonymous and I should make sure that they know about the surveying. I need to have an ethical matter as much as I can, and I should make sure I am as honest as possible with the people.

When making instructions to re-create legos, what made instructions good was the color of the block, the shape of the block, and the counting of the "stumps" of the Lego block.

The gap in the BOK is students who are in North Carolina ABSS. This is an actual gap in the bank of knowledge because all my sources are related to either a generalization of a place or another place that is not ABSS. This gap is important because it can provide future researchers information on how a specific place could affect students in that school system and how racial stereotypes can be more "severe" depending on the place.

In the high scoring papers, there is not as much writing as there are graphs. Seeing these visuals makes it easier to see the statistics. Furthermore, they are color coded which makes it easier to determine each part of the graph. I can use these examples to help me write my paper by adding more graphs than words. I will make sure that looking at it can immediately show the data that I am trying to portray to others by adding headlines and color coded charts.
