My favorite part of the movie would after the dad dealt with the cops and he had everyone stand out on the front lawn to explain to them that they should never have anyone else tell them what to do. I thought it was very inspiring. The part of the movie that impacted me the most would be when Sekani held The King Lord at gunpoint. I feel as though the scene was created for that very reason. If I could say one thing to Angie Thomas I would say, "Thank You for such an amazing insight on the hostilities of being a lower class African Americans."

I wasn't expecting that and it really put T.H.U.G. L.I.F.E. into perspective. (2) I think the part that impacted me was when starr was talking to her Uncle Carlos. Starr's Uncle Carlos said that when he shot a black guy if he thought he had a gun but would tell a white guy to put his hands up. It just opens your eyes and makes you realize somethings. (3) I would tell Angie Thomas that she did an amazing job writing The Hate U Give.

My other favorite part was when they got back from dinner and their father has them stand in the yard.
2. The part that impacted me most was the beginning where Maverick was giving them the talk about what happens when you're pulled over. My mother had a similar conversation, but it included other things because we are mixed. That part shows something that is very common in black households, having to discuss what to do when you're in a situation simply based off being black.
3. I would tell her that she did a wonderful job of writing what it is like to be black in America today. She shows how you have to act like two different people because of how society is today.

1)I liked the movie a lot. There were a lot of things I liked much more than others, but I would have to say my favorite part of the movie is when Starr had stood up on the car and really just basically expressed how she felt. I would say that's my favorite part because all that time she was holding in these feelings/emotions she never really got out.
2)Honestly, I feel like I wasn't really impacted personally by some parts of the movie. Something that I was a little impacted by was how Starr's white friend at her school didn't really see what the big issue was with Khalil being shot. That girl felt as if he had a reason to die, and that the officer was only doing his job. That made me realize that people won't leave out of this certain mindset that some of the cops that shoot African Americans aren't wrong in any way.
3) I would the author that she did a very great job, and she made a movie that showed not only the wrong in police brutality but it showed how strong each of us really are.
