5. Why are you doing this? (not ‘its the brief’!) What do people think or feel that you hope to change?

·        Focusing on how humans interact with a space and forcing mimicking using manipulation of space. --explain how animals work and do labours

One thing that I am most interested in is how animals plants and insects work to constantly keep peace within ecology. Reviving and keeping trying to keep equilibrium through various labours. However, as humans evolve and develop, we interrupt there process to benefit us our lifestyle. Disregarding the damage done to nature despite their labour contributing to our survival.  BALANCE

I wanted to create a space where unknowingly humans would part take in these labours and journeys. In a way the space itself would navigate them causing certain interactions to take place. The more you move around in these spaces—maybe through caution, it become memory work. ANT FARM EXAMPLS 

Memory and psychology? – insect memories 

This comes back from Asdum – where there is a partake in a ritual, and certain movements become of the design that too unknowingly. And the concept is taken from a memory of one person.

An issue we are currently faced with is “reading crisis”, since the pandemic students depend on technology and ebooks, decreasing the use of physical books and libaries. One of the problems with this is decrease in attention span and knowledge through the experience of tradition method using libraries and books.

Create a library space inviting students, where its traditional with various programs to help the community but it also mimics certain aspects of an insects physicality and actions that would create a more futurist building whilst providing the necessary spaces needed for these programs to be successful.

Or mimicking the eveloution of this insect as the spaces change 

 "Smart" insects will change their behaviours to reflect their associations with and memories of environmental stimuli.

For the simple insect nervous system, learning to ignore repetitive and meaningless stimuli is a fairly easy task. 

This learning, called habituation, helps insects save energy by training them to ignore what is harmless.

insects can also learn through classical conditioning. An insect exposed repeatedly to two unrelated stimuli will soon associate one with the other. Wasps can be given food rewards each time they detect a certain scent. Once a wasp associates food with the smell, it will continue to go to that scent. I want the space and structure I create to be inspired by nature. I have previously looked the ideology of how labours within ecology work together to keep balance within society through various methods. When creating this space, I want to manipulate human movements and actions through the complexity/ shapes of the space that is inspired by certain characteristic, labours and journeys taken by a specific natural element. Nature is known to be positive mentally, physically, emotional towards humans, we have mimicked their way to create/ engineer products through labours, physiology, architecture. 

But to create space that would simplify or accentuate simple tasks of learning and memories, understanding can be elements taken from natures natural ways. Nature and ecosystem has a give and take relationship, a relationship we have taken for granted leading to collapse of ecology.

A world where senses are heightened, shows the beauty of everything mundane. from the ignored flickering of the traffic lights to the noise of the rushing city with natures songs slowing faded in the background. Where every touch of the banister can make you count the scratches and the untold story of the scrapped paint that once sat smoothly. Everything is awake. But when this sensitive world exposes itself and then refuses to ever quieten down, what do you do? How do you explain each sense and the feelings surrounding it. 

‘Uncomfortable’ is the word may use that suffer from Autism. Currently 1/100 children in the world suffer from autism. A figure that will only increase over time. When being diagnosed you are not only being finalised with autism but other health issues that were/are overlooked. Autism is a spectrum, where each individual is different in the various symptoms they carry. 

A specific concern that peoples with autism face is memory issues. They have weak working memory especially with spatial information as well as weak autobiographical episodic memory. Which is the bank of experiences we have stored in our memory to determine our actions and behaviour to be accepted in society as well as keep ourselves safe. 

These problems with long term memory and complex information causes anxiety for this community leaving them alienated as well as more prone to diseases like dementia when they get older. 

Where Autism in humans leave them feeling isolated other communities within nature work differently. An example of this is the society of bees. Bees are known to be one of the hardest working insects. Recent studies have shown that antisocial bees share genetic profile with people with autism. When focusing on their behaviours and the response of other bees they found that these bees carried on with their activities and let the antisocial bees do what they wanted.  Another profile that fits
