External Evidence

This will contain recordings of me preforming my own songs live at my towns open mic nights and music festival. (This will show how i'm able to communicate the story and emotion of my songs to the audience through my performance).

Experienced in the Pop genre and dance for example Dua Lipa. In this video she visited her old school showing her excitement, her ability to connect with the kids/singing with them and giving signatures/selfies.

This let me see how other companies are marketing their performers and shows. I learnt that it takes a lot of info and communication to put out all the info people/fans would need to attend the gigs.

I used facial expressions and body language to connect with my audience. I decided to look lost in thought, mirroring Paloma's reflective lyrics.

I paid attention to the phrasing, the way I breathed, and the pauses i made more of an emotional impact. For example, I held certain notes a bit longer to create a sense of yearning. I also looked of into the distance to give the affect of me looking back on memories.

For the second part I went into detail about the Delivery (How I will deliver the emotions of the song), Phrasing and Ti ing (How I will watch the way I breath and phrase the lyrics in certain parts) and Expression (How I will use my expressions and body language to connect with my audience).

That being said, there were a few tuning issues that popped up occasionally. While the guitar tone was clear and warm through the DI to FOH, it’s important to ensure that tuning is double-checked between songs to avoid any distractions. Inconsistent tuning, even if minor, can detract from the overall polish of the performance, so keeping an eye on this will make a big difference going forward. 

The band had a great sense of unity, not just musically, but in terms of your stage presence. You all instantly looked and sounded like a band, which is a major achievement. However, one area for growth would be the dynamic sensitivity in the rhythm section. In some of the quieter sections, the drums could have been more controlled to allow the other instruments and vocals to shine through. By dropping down slightly in volume, you can help create a more balanced dynamic range across the set and provide more space for the rest of the band to be heard clearly. 

Your energy on stage was infectious, and the songs had a great groove. The tightness with which you played together was evident, and it created a fantastic atmosphere for the audience. The endings of your songs, in particular, were very well executed—nuanced and thoughtful, providing a satisfying sense of closure to each piece. 

In the future, it would be beneficial to explore more contrast between the quieter and louder sections of your songs. While the energy in the louder parts was great, the quieter moments could have benefited from a little more drama and contrast. By exaggerating the differences in dynamics, you can create more impact when the song builds back into its louder sections. 

Your harmonies were a real highlight of the performance. It was clear that you were all engaged with the music, and the vocal blend was excellent. There’s always room to develop harmonies further, but the foundation was strong and well-executed. The vocalists were especially effective in connecting with each other, with great communication and shared moments of vocal freedom. This is an area where you should continue to explore and push the boundaries of your vocal arrangements.  

The decision to have the main vocals in the centre of the stage was a great choice, and it added to the overall flow of the performance. Your communication with one another was also impressive, and it really helped to solidify the performance’s cohesion. The guitar sharing, especially in the more harmonized sections, was effective and allowed for some interesting textures. The most successful moments were when you allowed the harmonies to feel more free and less structured, creating a beautiful, organic sound. 

In summary, you delivered a strong, well-rehearsed performance that showcased your musicality, energy, and connection with each other. There are definitely some areas to fine-tune, such as paying closer attention to tuning, enhancing the dynamic contrast, and continuing to develop your vocal harmonies. But overall, the performance was a great reflection of your hard work and dedication. Keep up the excellent work, and I’m excited to see how your sound and cohesion continue to evolve. You’ve created a great foundation, and there’s a lot of potential for this band to grow! 

The organiser handed round a hat for the audience to tip what they thought I deserved and in the end I got £20 from audience and £70 from the organisers.
