Sleep is a state of unconsciousness that one goes into. It is said to form new, lasting connections in the brain and increases memory. It has many benefits and is required for the survival of a human. 19 days without sleep is enough to kill you. Not sleeping or sleep deprivation can come with many negative effects which can lead to increased disease risk, weaker immune system, stress and increased physical and physiological difficulties (just naming a few). Two types of sleep are REMs and NREMs.
