      <description>In the five years since she began working as a journalist, Farnoush Amiri has been published in several outlets while working for a range of media organizations. Farnoush Amiri began her career at The Associated Press as a news associate in June 2019, where she was responsible for covering breaking news on a tight deadline. She is now a statehouse reporter for the AP, based in Columbus, Ohio.

Ms. Amiri also has experience with NBC News, where she worked as a digital reporter for a year. While there, she covered deep-dive and daily content on a range of topics, including politics, foreign policy, and natural disasters. In addition, she provided in-depth research to investigative reporters to assist with articles on immigration, charity finances, and other topics.

Farnoush Amiri is a board member of the South Asian Journalists Association and is also involved in the Asian American Journalists Association. She holds a bachelor of arts and a master’s degree in journalism, which she earned at San Francisco State University and New York University, respectively.
