Hey guys!

My name is Margarida Fernandes. I am 25 years old, I have a degree in Basic Education and at the moment I am studying at the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal, more concretely at the Higher Education School, where I am attending the Master's Degree in Pre-primary and Primary Education.

Before going to school I was completely lost in relation to what I wanted to do, but after volunteering in an institution with children from 3 months to 6 years old, worked as a tutor and worked as a babysitter in London, I decided that this was the area that I wanted to be in and I am very happy with this decision.

Another aspect that helped me was also being a girl scout and being in permanent contact with children, to see them and make them happy. At this moment, unfortunately I am not in the movement for not being able to dedicate myself 100%, but I confess that I have many misses.

Kisses,

Margarida Fernandes

#ITELab_eu #ESESET

I leave you with a phrase from the founder of Scouting, Banden Powell

Twitter as a Tool for Lifelong Learning - [U1-A8]

What do you think of a medium like Twitter? Do you have an account? Will you make one to give it a try? Do you believe in its potential power for professional development? Do you think there are better social media tools where you can learn as a teacher?

I'd heard of Twitter, but I'd never been curious to see how it worked, to experiment. It was then that the challenge arose in #ITELab_eu course to create an account so I could share my experience during it.
Incredibly, I never thought of social networking as a way to learn to be a teacher, I lie, I already use Facebook to get in touch with other teachers. I am in different groups where we share the "work" we do with the children and we exchange ideas. In this sense, and with this experience in another social network, I consider that Twitter can be an asset for my professional development since I can contact different teachers from all over the world, share experiences, reflections, questions to help me become a better teacher !

In this video it was possible to observe very good ideas about which I had already reflected and which I believe should be implemented in the classrooms, however, in Portugal it is a bit complicated. I say this because in the stages that I did teachers use a lot of the traditional method, that is, the expository method in which they debit the subject without much participation and involvement on the part of the students. In my opinion and as a future teacher, I consider these ideas to be of value to both teachers and students, as it facilitates the teacher-student relationship, facilitates students' learning and provides them with tools for the future.

Do Massive Open Online Course or not? - [U3-A7]

I confess that at the beginning I felt a little reluctant to take an online course, in which I did not know what I expected, but after clarifying some doubts with my teacher of TIC (tecnologias de informação e comunicação, in english information and communication technologies), to understand the purposes of this course and mainly to realize that it could be performed at my pace and according to my availability, said let's go! Today I say MOOC without a doubt! I believe that this type of course is an asset to all who attend it, in which we can interact with the other trainees and with the trainers, we can still, despite all terms have an equal term, define in which time we perform each task / unit of according to our personal life. I would love to do another course in these parameters!

We only have one world and so we have to estimate it!!

The connection with other teachers outside my school context is important since each teacher is a unique human being, who carries with it his / her specific characteristics and teaching strategies. In this sense, this connection enricates me not only personal level, as professional as I can adapt the same strategies to different groups, be they children or adults. Unfortunately I do not have a PLN, but certainly in the future it is something that I will like to invest.
