Meth is white, odorless powder that easily dissolves in water or alcohol. Crystal Meth is often used as a ¨club drug" due to  it stimulant, or speeding up effects.  When it is first used it gives a great feeling to the user, but with time the chemicals start to eat out the person. Highly addictive, meth burns up the body’s resources, creating a devastating dependence that can only be relieved by taking more of the drug. Methamphetamine can be swallowed, snorted, injected, smoked or absorbed through gums or inserted through the anus. Crystal Meth is usually smoked by a glass pipe with a bulb on other side, some people break off the light bulb and heat the bottom to inhale.

However, in the early stages it was used for medical ways. Amphetamine was a drug often used for asthma attacks and due to similar properties methamphetamine was used for nasal decongestant and unplugging breathing canals. Since then, the use of drug have been considered and as a Schedule II drug it has only medical use when everything else failed. Now, it is very limited in use legally, however because of how addictive it is most people set up laboratories and make "homemade meth" which is a dangerous process and can lead to fast and unstopping fires, if explodes. The use of meth has increased dramatically from yeas of 1990s to early 2000s, mostly found to come from homemade labs in Mexico.

Meth has also been used to treat obesity due to the fact that it decreases appetite.  Sometimes it can also treat rare sleeping disorder of narcolepsy, which is tiredness during the day and attacks of sleep because of the stimulant effects methamphetamine has.  Also, often used to reduce muscle tension and many of the anxiety disorders.

According to the study by Monitoring the Future, the percentage of eighth graders trying a drug at least once in a of 1999 was 3.2% which decreased to 1.5% in 2004. Tenth grader use decreased from 4.6% to 3% and senior use from 4.7% to 3.4%. This is mostly due to the fact that in 2000s it started to become a bigger deal and was highly controlled. It is harder to get it now, and is more expensive on the black market. Therefore, not many teen are able to find or afford it anymore. For example, quarter of meth costs anywhere from 20 to 60 dollars . However, as an addict they would be willing to pay that price for such a small amount because of the long-lasting high feeling achieved with small quantities.

It is called ya ba which means crazy drug in Thai. However, the powdered form of meth is more common.
