My first thought was in our upcoming mythology unit. I think the kids would have fun creating a snap of individual gods/goddesses and then introduce them to the class. I also thought of this as a fun way to introduce themselves at the start of the year. They could do some narrative writing, snap some photos of themselves with family, pets, doing activities, etc. and share them with the class. Finally, I think it would be a great way to conclude book groups. I was already familiar with the program as I used it a lot during my masters program. However, I was not exactly sure how to get started from a teacher's standpoint. So, I learned that you can simply use the trial version, then upgrade by completing different challenges, and then eventually prolong your trial membership. The Grids themselves are classes and you give students the code to enter the Grid. It is safe for them as they do not have to create an account, which is even better. Basically, this is a quick, easy way to have a discussion via video rather than typed out responses. I feel this would be more engaging for students.

This is very similar to MyMaps and students have enjoyed using that tool. Once I have a chance to play more I can find out what the differences are between the two tools.

As they are put in to the program, when assessment documents are sent to the students and parents they will be able to see where they are at for fitness levels at each test.
