The High-Performance Spaceflight Computing (HPSC) Program is a NASA partnership jointly funded by STMD and Microchip to provide transformational advances in onboard computing capabilities. HPSC is anticipated to have infusion targets across science, human, and robotic missions. These missions are expected to be longer, with harsh environments, long communication latency, higher mission complexity, and lower power, thus necessitating a new radiation hardened processor with increased performance, flexibility, and I/O connectivity. To address increasing sensor data bandwidth and limited downlink bandwidths, these missions may also leverage the increased computing capabilities for onboard science data processing to maximize science return. Planetary Research is a diamond open access journal that is being developed by the planetary science community and that will open for submissions in January 2026.

The journal seeks candidates for the editorial board, including the editor-in-chief, editors, and associate editors. Interested candidates should provide a CV, a publication list, and a short letter motivating their interest in the position to the chair of the search committee before July 1, 2025. The University of Texas High-Resolution X-ray Computed Tomography Facility (UTCT) and the Lunar and Planetary Institute (LPI) will host a four-day training in X-ray computed tomography and other tomographies for the planetary sample sciences. The training will include overviews of acquisition and interpretation of tomographic data, with hands-on training in 3-D visualization and quantitative interpretation of geological and petrographic features. Limited to 12 in-person participants

In addition to global datasets, VERITAS has two types of targeted observations:

1) high resolution (15 m) SAR imaging (~25% of Venus) of key geologic features and

2) repeat pass interferometry (<0.2% of Venus – a precious resource!) to search for vertical surface deformation as small as 1.5 cm over localized (<200 km) regions.

This meeting will introduce the VERITAS mission, the characteristics of the targeted datasets, preliminary ideas for how target solicitation will be done, and start priming the pump for creative science input to optimize the use of these important assets.

The conference will focus on the current state of knowledge of volatiles in the lunar polar regions, encompassing insights from orbital and in-situ missions, modeling, and experiments. Our goal is to advance understanding of lunar polar volatiles in preparation for upcoming robotic and human landings, including the present-day spatial distribution of lunar polar volatiles and processes affecting their history. In addition to the science of lunar volatiles, we also welcome presentations about the geology of the Artemis landing zones and cold-trapped volatiles on Mercury and Ceres.
