*You and your peers may be at the same table, but you all have different chairs. Each chair is built of your life experiences and glued with each special skill you possess. Your chair may be different, but it still gives you a seat at the table. Never forget that what YOU bring is valuable!

*Build your network. You never know how valuable a connection is until you need it. However, do not let that be a one-sided relationship. Give assistance when you can, mentor others, and send that ladder back down.

* Gratitude, humility, and kindness have opened more doors for me than I can begin to say. Hard skills can be taught through practice and time. Do not neglect those soft skills.

*New things are scary.

These are all pieces of advice I have been given that have turned out to be absolutely true:

1. Ask questions and be interested. Carry with you always that "learner's mentality" and be ready to learn something new from everyone you meet, whether that's an hourly associate or the CEO.
2. Say yes more than you say no to new experiences. Pushing yourself to accept new challenges and opportunities will open doors you never even knew existed.
3. Respect everyone. This one sounds simple... And it should be, for sure! Treat everyone with respect, even when you disagree, as you will then be able to foster relationships and partnerships that will help drive the business and your success.
4. Offer to help. Mr. Rogers always told kids to "look for the helpers" and you'll find it's as rewarding (if not more) TO help as it is to BE helped. This is where teamwork is truly born.

Good luck in your next steps and thank you for being part of the Orange Family. You'll always have folks in your corner, rooting for your success!

-- Ashley Townsend

Of course not, there is always more to learn, a new area of the business, and people to connect with. And there is NO PRESSURE to know it all (yet).

My tips: write thank you notes/emails, prepare the STAR method for interviews, and keep in touch with your team/fellow interns/new connections.

-Anne Rasimowicz, Intern Class of 2016

First of all, congratulations on completing a summer internship! It is not an easy feat so take time to be proud of your work and accomplishments, small wins end up making large impacts!
The best advice I've ever received (from my very first manager at my first job) was that when faced with challenges, we can either laugh or we can cry, it's that simple. Essentially, when things get difficult it's important to remember to keep a positive attitude and not take yourself too seriously!
The other piece of advice I would give is to instead of looking at your career like a vertical ladder, look at it like a jungle gym. Focus less on the vertical movement of every position you apply to and instead follow your curiosities and interests, no matter where they take you. Interest and passion will take you farther in the long run every time!

-Alexis Hiett

At the end of the day, if someone asks you if you like your job, your answer should always be, "yes."

You can do hard things and you can figure it out. Step into the unknown. The world is always searching for people who take initiative, even when they're scared.

To the women in the workplace- always ask for a little bit higher, even if it's $.50/hr more. As a past intern, I know all the emotions y'all are feeling but you should be proud of all the hard work you've done this summer.
