         <description><![CDATA[<div>S.E. Hinton uses lots of history in her book. S.E. Hinton uses the history through her characters and conflict. For the characters she describes the Socs With very "in" trends wore by the rich. These include leather jackets and Mustangs. In her conflicts she uses things like rumbles and jumping. The jumping conflict is when Pony and Johnny are jumped and Johnny kills Bob. For the rumble it is when the Socs and the Greasers fight.This  is how S.E. Hinton uses history</div>]]></description>
