Jaya Row's TED Talk explains that real happiness doesn’t come from having lots of things or being successful. Instead, it comes from feeling peaceful inside and staying true to who you really are. She believes that chasing after things outside of ourselves, like money or fame, can leave us feeling empty. To use her advice in daily life, you can try activities like meditation or just being more mindful, focusing on your own growth and peace rather than worrying about what others think. This way, you can feel happier and more balanced.

Instead of chasing external success, she argues that true happiness comes from within, by living with purpose and staying true to your values. I think that makes a lot of sense focusing on inner peace and meaningful goals could make daily life feel more rewarding. Personally, I’d try applying her ideas by being more mindful and intentional, finding joy in the little things, and making sure my routine reflects what really matters to me.

Jaya Row's perspective on happiness, which is deeply rooted in Vedanta philosophy, challenges conventional views by emphasizing that true happiness is an inner state, independent of external circumstances. She suggests that fulfillment comes not from material success or sensory pleasures but from living a life aligned with one's higher purpose and values. This contrasts with the often externally-driven pursuit of happiness in modern society, where people might equate fulfillment with achievements, possessions, or status.

She emphasizes that true happiness stems from within, rooted in mental discipline, self-awareness, and aligning one's actions with a higher purpose. This view might shift your understanding of a fulfilled life, encouraging a focus on inner peace and mindfulness rather than the pursuit of external success. To incorporate her insights into your daily routine, you could engage in regular meditation, make mindful choices, and set goals that resonate with your core values. This approach fosters a deeper, more authentic happiness by prioritizing quality of being over mere accomplishments, potentially reducing stress and promoting a sense of contentment in the present moment.

She shed light on how perspective matter when it comes to happiness, highlighting the essence of ‘someone’s trash is another persons treasure’, by showing us how sometimes, some things that make us happy, make other equally dissatisfied, telling us how to treasure every moment we live in. She also showed us the basic formula for happiness. Happiness = Desires Desires Fulfilled/Desires Harboured. She also spoke about how happiness was found within you and it’s not the external things that should make you happy. Respecting and valuing the small things in life make life seem much brighter and happier than it might actually be.
