Description: The Char Hope Foundation is a long-term recovery residence for women struggling with substance use disorder. We utilize a unique social care farming approach that combines the National Ag Literacy Outcomes with the renowned 12 steps of addiction recovery. Our residents engage in hands-on learning opportunities including homesteading, commodity marketing, gardening, equine therapy, and exposure to general farm life. Agricultural based healing with direct lessons on our social care farm creates a safe space for our residents to grow through vulnerability, self-reliance, trust, and personal discovery. We believe that agricultural practices, when combined with life skills, recovery based principles, and a strong support network of peers, fosters the solid foundation needed for people entering the world of long-term recovery.
