I was born in Iowa, but grew up and live in Bakersfield, California. I am currently a first year teacher for a 5th grade class. I decided to go back to school and received my AA in history. I then moved on to CSUB and doubled majored in history and philosophy, with intentions of going to law school. I was accepted and started my journey to become a lawyer. Little did I know my plans would change. Last year I started the year as a long term substitute. It was only supposed to last a couple months, but it continued to get pushed back. Next thing I know they are asking me to stay for the whole year. I agreed. By spring, the staff encouraged me to apply. I thought it was a long shot, but I was hired.
