The Suzi Awards has a goal of creating a "safe space" for everyone, especially Black women, who are often marginalized. A study revealed that the representation of Black women was less than half of what it should be, given Atlanta's
 demographics. With the use of intersectionality in our Suzi EDI Eligibility Standards for all theatres and all shows, Black women are the most heavily weighted group.
